Waikīkī happy hour is one of those things that sounds like a tourist gimmick until you're actually sitting outside in warm island air at 4PM, cold drink in hand, watching the neighborhood shift into evening mode. Done right, it's one of the best parts of a day in Waikīkī — and at ShoreFyre Fresh Grill & Bar, it's done very right.

ShoreFyre runs happy hour daily, 3–6PM at both Waikīkī locations — Koa Ave and the International Market Place — with a full menu of discounted signature cocktails, $7 premium spirits, local draft beers, and a proper pupus menu with everything from ShoreFyre Fries to Ahi Tuna Tataki. Here's exactly what you get.

The Signature Cocktail Specials

ShoreFyre's happy hour isn't built around well drinks and flat soda — it's built around the same handcrafted tropical cocktails that appear on the regular menu, just at prices that make ordering a second one an easy decision.

The Hawaiian Mai Tai — white and spiced rum, fresh pineapple juice, orgeat, orange juice, orange curaçao, and a Mahina dark rum float — is the quintessential Waikīkī happy hour drink, and at $10 during happy hour it's the move. The Coconut Mojito — lite rum, lime, pineapple juice, mint, house-made sweet n' sour, coconut cream, and soda water — is equally worth ordering at the same price. Both are marked as Hawaiian Classic Cocktails on the menu for a reason: they taste like where you are.

If you prefer something lighter, the Mimosa comes in at $7 — served with house Brut and your choice of orange, lilikoi, guava, strawberry, mango, or pineapple juice. A proper happy hour sipper with a distinctly island twist.

$7 Premium Spirits — Make It a Cocktail for $10

This is where ShoreFyre's happy hour genuinely stands out from most of Waikīkī. The $7 spirits menu covers a lineup that most bars would consider their top shelf: Tito's, Ketel One, Absolut, Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray, Bacardi Silver, Captain Morgan, Malibu, Maker's Mark, Bulleit & Rye, Crown Royal, Jameson, Cazadores, Fireball, and Rumple Minze — all $7 neat or on the rocks. Add a mixer for $3 and you've got a proper cocktail for $10.

It's the kind of spirits selection that makes happy hour feel like a genuinely good deal rather than a discounted version of something worse.

Local Draft Beers — $5

For beer drinkers, the happy hour draft lineup leans local — which is exactly how it should be in Hawaiʻi. Kona Big Wave and Maui Big Swell IPA are both $5 a pint during happy hour, representing two of the best-known local Hawaiian breweries. Kona Big Wave is the easy-drinking golden ale that works at any time of day; Maui Big Swell is for those who want a little more hop character with their ocean view.

Canned beer options include the locally brewed Maui Bikini Blonde Lager at $5 and Tecate at $4 — straightforward, cold, and exactly right for a Waikīkī afternoon.

Wine drinkers get the Opera Prima Brut by the glass for $7.

The Pupus Menu — Sharing is the Point

Happy hour food at ShoreFyre is built for sharing — the kind of spread you put in the middle of the table and work through over a couple of rounds. The pupus menu is split into two price tiers, making it easy to put together a full spread without overthinking it.

$10.50 & Under:

  • ShoreFyre Fries — $9.50. The classic, done right. Crispy, salty, and exactly what you want alongside a cold beer.
  • Fried Brussel Sprouts — $10.50. One of those dishes that consistently surprises people who think they don't like brussel sprouts.

$15.50 & Under:

  • Hibachi Chicken — $12. Grilled, flavorful, a solid lighter option.
  • Popcorn Shrimp / Fresh Ahi — $13.50. Two of ShoreFyre's most popular flavors in one shareable plate.
  • Hibachi Steak — $13.50. Tender, well-seasoned, and pairs perfectly with the Mai Tai.
  • Fresh Ahi Tuna Tataki — $13.50. Line-caught Pacific ahi, seared and served in the Japanese style. One of the best things on the happy hour menu and genuinely rare at this price point in Waikīkī.
  • Tropical Shrimp Ceviche — $13. Bright, citrusy, and perfect for the weather.
  • Coconut Shrimp — $15.50. A crowd favorite — sweet, crispy, and unmistakably island.

Pupus to Share:

  • Happy Hour Sampler — $40. Choose any 4 from: Popcorn Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Fresh Ahi Tuna Tataki, Hibachi Steak, Hibachi Chicken, ShoreFyre Fries, Loaded Fries, Tropical Shrimp Ceviche, or Fried Brussel Sprouts. For a group of four splitting food and drinks, this is the best value on the menu.
  • Mango Barbecue Pork Ribs — $19. Full rack energy for a happy hour price. The mango BBQ glaze is distinctly Hawaiian and worth ordering once if you've never had it.

Koa Ave vs. IMP — Same Menu, Different Energy

The happy hour menu is the same at both ShoreFyre locations, but the two spots offer meaningfully different atmospheres — worth knowing before you choose where to park yourself for the afternoon.

Koa Ave is the neighborhood spot. Quieter, more local, outdoor seating on a residential street that's a short walk from the beach. If you want a relaxed, unhurried happy hour without the tourist-strip energy, this is the one. Good for couples, small groups, or anyone who wants to slow down and actually enjoy the afternoon.

International Market Place is where the energy builds. The open-air lanai overlooks the Great Banyan Tree and Kalākaua Avenue — Waikīkī's main strip — so happy hour here has a front-row seat to the neighborhood coming alive in the early evening. It also happens to coincide with the start of live music (5–8PM daily), so arriving at 3PM means you'll catch the tail end of the quiet and be right in the thick of it by 5. On Wednesday through Saturday, the IMP location transitions directly into Fyre by Night from 10PM — making it the natural starting point for a full evening out.

Tips for Making the Most of Happy Hour at ShoreFyre

  • Arrive before 5PM if you want the best lanai tables at IMP — once the live music starts, seating fills up quickly
  • Order the Sampler if you're a group of 3 or more — $40 for four pupus of your choice is the best food value on the happy hour menu
  • The Ahi Tuna Tataki at $13.50 is exceptional value — fresh Pacific ahi at happy hour pricing is rare in Waikīkī
  • Runs daily — available 7 days a week, no need to plan around it
  • Wed–Fri at the IMP: if you're staying for Fyre by Night, you can go straight from happy hour to dinner to late-night without leaving the complex
